are busy days for Tryon. The
Masons are not meeting tonight
and the Scout Court of Honor will

at the school auditorium at 8
o’clock preparing for the big con
cert next Monday night. Barbara
Stanwyck and Ray Milland are on
at Tryon Theatre in “California”.

year. Three important things take
place Tuesday night: The Cham
ber of Commerce directors meet in
the Hester building at 8. The
Boy Scout Court of Honor meets
at the school at 8 p. m., and the
Farm" Bureau will meet in Mill

TWO MORE CANDIDATES
OUT FOR TOWN OFFICE
Francis Chapman has filed for
the office of mayor and Ernest
Kerhulas has filed for commission
er. The new additions make four
candidates for mayor: Stevens,
Poole, Bell and Chapman; and
seven candidates for commission
er as follows: Cowan, Sayre, Dur
ham, Andrews, Calhoun, Kerhulas,
Merrick.
One week from today is the
closing date for all candidates to
file.
Scout Court of Honor
Tomorrow (Tuesday) Night
The Polk County Boy Scout
Court of Honor will be held Tues
day night at 8 o’clock instead
of the date announced in The
Bulletin. This is the first time
in many years that the court of
honor is to be held on Tuesday.
It was necessary this month in
order to avoid conflicts. Scout offi
cials state that the court of honor
Tuesday night will be one of the
most productive in the history of
Scouting. A large number of boys
will be up for advancement. One
Scout, Billy Baker, will be award
ed the Eagle rank; two other
Scouts, Ligon Flynn and Raymond
Anderson, are expected to present
themselves for recommendation for
the same honor.
The public is invited.
Choral Rehearsal Tonight
The Choral Club rehearsal will
be held tonight at the Tryon
school auditorium.
