The Charlotte Observer of Wed
nesday had a picture o£ Miss Mill
Spring, who is Miss Georgie Marie
Gilbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
M. H. Gilbert, ‘and a junior at
#Mill Spring High School. She is
a graduate of Sunny View school;
is 16 years old, has black hair and
brown eyes, and weighs 130 pounds.
She plays basketball, softball,
swims, sews; She is taking a busi
ness course.
The W. S. C. S. of the Bethlehem
Church met in the home of Mrs.
Robert Jolley on Tuesday, Novem
ber 4th. Miss Essie Edwards
was in charge of * the program,
leading a discussion on “Mission
Work.”
In the Popularity contest of the
school carnival, Jeanne Halford
was winner of grades 1-4; Betty
Joe Dalton won in the 5-8 grade
group; Georgie Marie Gilbert won
over the high school contestants,
Jeanne Cochran, Sue Egertqn and
Betty Poster. Miss Gilbert, a
junior, enrolled in the Mill Spring
school this year. She is a daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gilbert
of the Sunny View section.
Miss Sarah Elliott of Asheville
spent the week-end with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Elliott.
Miss Frances Jackson, a senior
at Converse College, was home
during the week-end.
Mrs. L. C.. Gibbs is visiting her
daughter,, Mrs. Clarke Messer, at
Waynesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Fagan spent
Sunday with Mrs. A. M. Lyndf^
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert
visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. H. Gibbs, during the week-end.
Theron Green is at the Moore
General hospital for treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Green
are the parents of twin girls born
Nov. 6th.
