Andrews, Sr., 69, prominent Western Niorth Carolina horseman, passed away Sunday night at his home in Tryon after an illness of several years. _ Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Erskine Memorial Congrega tional Church with the pastor, the Rev. Frank W. Murtfeldt, officiat ing. Interment in Tryon Cemetery. Mr. Andrews was bom May 14, 1878 in Greenville County (S. C.), and had been in the stable business in Tryon and East Flat Rock for the past 35 years, operating at Tryon in the winter and Flat Rock in the summer. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Ella Brookshire and the foUowing sons and daughters: James Andrews, Mitchell P. An drews, Jr., Mrs. Alex Arledge, Miss Ruth Andrews, Miss Louise An drews, Mrs. Wofford Foster; two granddaughters, Ann and Mary Scott Foster; all of Tryon and one nephew, Norman E. Andrews of Rome, ^Georgia. Presbyterians Call Pastor ReV. George W . Hayward, senior ministerial student at Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, Ga., has accepted a call to the pas torate of the Tryon Presbyterian Church, it was announced here Sunday., Mr. Hayward will finish his course next May and take up full time duty at that time. Meanwhile he will occupy the pulpit three times in December and from time to time until May. Mr. Hayward is married to Miss Dill of Spur . .Continued on Back Page__
