New patients admitted over the
week-end include C. E. Clingan,
who has a broken arm, J. A.
Reynolds, Mrs. Willard Johnson
and baby daughter, born Jan. 31,
Mrs. Ann»Sabath and baby son,
born Feb. 1.
Patients dismissed include L. L.
Tallant of Columbus, Joe Hart of
Columbus was transferred to Spar
tanburg General for an operation.
Mrs. Elizabeth Rhodes and Mrs.
John W. Cowan have returned from
a business trip to Atlanta, Ga.
Mrs. A. W. Brintnall, who under
went an operation at Biltmore
hospital, is expected home today.
Lord Brand is arriving in Try
on Tuesday from England for a
visit with his daughters, Mrs. John
Polk and Mrs. Littleton Fox. Dur
ing the war Lord Brand was the
British representative of the treas
ury in Washington. —

Time was when I could stretch and
stretch, and do a lot of work,

Though I am weak, my influence
is felt around the globe,
But, Congress, do not waste your
time and have another probe;
I have not stretched the truth at
all—it’s here in white and
black,
And you’ll be in the red unless
I get my rubber back.

Mr. and Mrs. Prank J. Smerda
of Cleveland, Ohio, are guests at
Hotel Tryon.
Graveside services for the infant
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Solesbee of Tryon will be held
this afternoon at Tryon cemetery.
Rev. M. J. Ross officiating. The
baby’s parents, and one sister,
Betty Jo, survive.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Day, Jr., of
Riverside, Conn., are arriving to
day for a two week’s visit with
Mr. Day’s father, Irving Day, and
Mrs. Day, at the Block House in
the Hunting Country.
