Once in a while a newcomer
looks at the Curb Reporter’s desk
and wonders how we ever find any
thing. Paul J. Ramsey /'was in
Miami, Fla., recently and saw on
display a beautiful desk, Coronet,
“crowning achievement in desks”
according to the attractive folder
he brought back. The outfit in
cluding three chairs costs about
$7,000. The desk includes radio,
electric intercommunication unit,
electronic dictating equipment, elec
tric razor, electric refrigerator for
ice cubes and drinks, bar equipped
with 12 glasses, burglar-proof cast
steel chest, cigarette lighter, twin
Parker “51” pens, electric clock,
etc. The chairs are made at Siler
City, N. C., the desk at Grand
Rapids, Mich. The Tenth Com
mandment says don’t covet.
Reading the news of the celebra
tion of the 5,000 year old pageant,
Mardi Gras, in New Orleans, re
minds us that Tryon’sWm. S. Tur
ner jind Charles L. McGavern
families are living there and no
doubt have been taking in the fes
tivities which ended Shrove Tues
day, a day of fun before the lenten
austerity.
