Spattanbdtg radio _Continued from page One_ County Basketball Results Played At Columbus In the first round of the Polk County Basketball Tournament played at Columbus Monday night, Mill Spring girls defeated Green Creek girls. (Details not available). The Tryon high girls won over a crippled Saluda high team 2.6-15, playing without the services of four of their regulars. Saluda put on a scrappy performance before bow ing to the superior sharpshooters of Tryon. Ann riuman ana ivutn race tied for scoring honors with 11 points each. Henderson of Saluda led her team with 9 counters. The lineup: Tryon: P. Pittman 11; P. Or mand 2; P. Pace 11; G. Davis; G. Hines; G. Wilson. Subs, Ed- # wards 2; Alewine, Newman, Chap man and Cromer. In the second quarter Smith of Mill Spring found the range and enabl ed Mjjl Spring to lead at half time 13 to 8. Tryon cut down Mill Spring's lead to two points at the end of the third quarter. Mill Spring held a 19-17 advantage. With three minutes to play in the game, Mill Spring led 23-21. Tryon then held Mill Spring to one more point while dropping 8 valuable points through the hoops.
