The Ruth erfordton-Spindale Central High Hilltoppers were edged out in the final minute by the Tryon High Tigers, 12-6 at Rutherf.ordton on Friday night in a hard-fought grid game. The Tigers scored early in the first quarter when Dub Melton snatched a pass from Edwards and scooted 16 yards to paydirt. A Ulocked punt on the Tryon 35 set up the Hilltoppers 6-pointer. A 35-vard pass from Robertson to Lyles was good for a TD. With less than a minute to play the Tigers’ Anderson Riflled a pass to Bill Rhodes who galloped 50 yards for the tally. WELCOME FOX HUNTERS! Tryon and adjoining territory welcome the North Carolina Fox Hunters Association today at Har mon Field for a four days session. BROWN—STOKELY Announcements have been re ceived in Tryon of the marriage of Miss Sally Baxter Stokely to Mr. Austin Ainsworth Brown, on Saturday, October 9th, at Chicago, Illinois. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. John Burnett Stokely and the late Mr. Stokely of Indianapolis. The bridegroom is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Carter P. Brown of Tryon. The couple will be at home after December 11th at Pine Crest Inn, Tryon. Meeting of all fellows interest ed in playing on the town basket ball team, will meet at Dr. Emil Smith’s office at 8 o’clock tonight. The WSCS of Tryon Methodist church meets Tuesday 3 p’. m., with Mrs. W. W. Creasman.
