Mrs; Saumenig^ Represents Famous Candy Here The finest candy on special or ders to New York, is the latest thing introduced in Tryon by Mrs. H. M. Saumenig (Lida M. Saume nig), who is the special represen tative in the Carolinas for Ella R. Hawkins’ Carella Candies. It is very expensive, but onlv the best of material go into it because the candy is sold to people who can afford to appreciate its quali ty. The New Yorker magazine food ed;tor, writes, “It is nothing less than perfection.” The New York Times gave a long story on Jfcv Mrs. Hawkins converted her ^H|by of making candy into a profitable business because she was so interested in doing it right that demands for it grew until she had. to build a studio in which to make it. She personallv checks on every nut for its freshness and crisp ness before it is dipped in choco late.
