The Look Out Club met Thurs
day evening in the Stearns lunch
room. A delicious and satisfying
supper was served by the mem
bers of the Woodmen Circle, Alhea
Grove No. 224 to nearly 100 guests
at $1 each. The proceeds are to go
on the building of a W. O. W.
hall which is also to be used for
a community building. A business
meeting followed the supper and
a numLer of questions and sugges
tions were discussed, among them
the organization of a fire depart
ment, with J. A. Wilson as chair
man, Grav Fagan, Donald Spurlin,
Harold Griffith and E. H. Gibbs.
O. C. Feagan was appointed as
chairman of a committee to con
sult the county commissioners and
town authorities and secure their
co-operation for this project. An
other important decision was to
make an effort to clean up and
beautify the town and the sur
rounding country. For this a com
mittee consisting of Mayor Claude
Robbins, chairman, Hugh Tessener,
Donald Spurlin, Mrs. Blanche Blan
ton, Mrs. Virginia Rzeppa and
Mrs. Frank Edwards was selected.
The week of Nov. 15 to 20 has been
designated as “Clean-Up Week.”
All committees are expected to
have an excellent report at the
next meeting Thursday evening,
November 18th.
