A miscellaneous shower was giv en Saturday night for one of our Cove girls, the former Miss Louise Bradley, who is now Mrs. Homer Thompson. The affair was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thompson of the Silver Creek community. A large number of useful and attractive gifts were presented by the 75 guests. Refresh ments was served by Misses Velma Vergie Thompson, aided by ■Aer young ladies of the neighbor hood. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Phillips of Lancaster, S. C., brought a group of friends to their camp, “Lazy Man’s Inn” to spend the Thanksgiving holidays. Mr. and Mrs. John Davis spent Thanksgiving with Mr. Davis’ sis ter, Mrs. Sallie Foster, of Lynn. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mash were Thanksgiving day guests at the home of Mrs. Susan Horne and Mrs. Richmond Arledge of the Mill Creek section. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Gibbs and children of Raleigh. Mr. Gibbs who is connected with the State Highway Commission, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gibbs of Mill Spring, with whom he spent part of his holidays. Mrs. E. M. Moore came from Ridgeway, S. C., for a short stay at “Palmoore” last week. Among week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Case were Mrs. DeWitt Summey and children, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Gos nell, Gene Pace and Michael Hol bert, all of Saluda; and Cpl. and Mrs. Glover Case and children of Fort Jackson, S' C. Lofton Lemmonds was a recent over-night guest of Joe Raymond Stephenson of Saluda.
