You may be all right physically, mentally and every oth er way, but you don’t know, and * you can’t reassure your friends and neighbors unless you are X-rayed. The expense of conduct ing the X-ray is paid for by the sale of Christmas Seals. The Chair man of the Christmas Seals pro gram in Polk County is George A. Cathey. Mr. Cathey was one of Tryon's most active civic leaders Jiefore he" retired because of his t^^alth, but having seen service in HuTVorld War I and witnessed the horrible effects of gas and disease on the lungs he has retained the chairmanship of the Christmas Seal campaign in order to help stamp out tuberculosis in Polk bounty. Mr. Cathey was one of those leaders the community de pended on for so many things that one wondered what we would do when he had to auit. For years he handled the Horse Show reser vations and served on the enter tainment committee; he was a member of the Drama Fortnightly, director of the Country Club, ves tryman of the Episcopal church, ' president of the Chamber of Com merce, member of Tryott Town -Continued on Back _ “THE MALE ANIMAL” TO BE GIVEN TONIGHT The Tryon Little . Theatre will present its first performance of “The Male Animal” tonight at 8:15 at the Tryon school auditorium, and a repeat performance tomor row night at the same time and place. The production is sponsored by the Recreation Center and is under the direction of Mrs. Betty Steiner and Baxter Haynes. Lead ing roles will be portrayed by Jim Gibson as Prof. Tommy Turner; Faye Sprague Brown as Ellen, his wife; Daggert Karsten as Joe Fer guson, the football hero; Mary Flynn as Patricia Stanley, Ellen’s younger sister and Tom Moore, as Michael Barnes. Large Crowd Expected At Elk Supper Tonight Between 175 and 200 persons who have contributed to the Polk County Wildlife Club’s sports park and fishpond fund are expected to attend the elk supper to be served at Sunnydale tonight at 6:30 o’clock. Persons attending will be served in ample time to attend the theatre play and other entertain ments later in the evening, a club committeeman said. While all canvassers have not reported, there will probably be enough room at the festive board to accommodate late comers, but persons who haven’t already done so are urved to get their tickets at once. Tickets may be obtained at Missildine’s and at The Bulle tin office. There may be a few avail able at Sunnydale at suppertime, when a final check is made.
