Christmas Presents Exhibited
Fifty Christmas presents to be
given to the Ward Party for Vet
erans at Oteen Hospital will be on
exhibit at the Blue Ridge Weavers
Tuesday and Wednesday of this
week. The gifts will be presented
by the Polk County Red Cross
Volunteer Services committee. Mrs.
Walter C. Hill, chairman, is eager
for everyone who has had a part
in contributing to this gift fund
to see the exhibit. She feels that
the donors and all others in sym
pathy with any move to give Christ
mas cheer to the veterans in the
hospitals, can have greater joy in
their giving when they can see
the gifts that are to be presented.
The choir of the First Baptist
church presented their Christmas
musical program on Sunday* eve
ning to a full house. A feature
of the program was a solo number
by Melvin Hipps. Mrs. H. B.
Frankenfield, Jr., is choir director
and organist. Mrs. Elbert H. Ar
ledge is the choir president.
