Mill Spring Soldier % Back From Okinawa Kadena Air Force Base, Okin- * awa.—A'ir Force Private First Class James W. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thompson of Route No. 2, Mill Spring, recently returned to his home station of Spokane Air Force Bash, Wash./ after a three month stay on the island of Okinawa. As Airplane Engine Mechanic on a B-29 of the 345th Bombard ment Squadron, 98h Bombardment Group (M) of the 15th Air Force and Strategic Air Command, Pfc, Thompson participated in extend ed air maneuvers which covered half of the globe. Since leaving Spokane in late ' August the B-29 bombers flew simulated missions over Hawaii, Kwajelein, Guam, Okinawa, Philip pine Islands, Formosa, Japan, Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian, Aleutian Islands, Alaska and Canada. Roy L. Johnson will start a singing school Monday night, Jan. 24, at Glassy church. All singers are invited. This church is on the Gowansville road, west of Land rum.
