MRS. ADA NESSMITH
Mrs. Ada Johnson Nessmith, 40,
of Saluda, died Friday night at
7:30 at Patton Memorial Hospital
in Hendersonville after a long
illness.
Mrs. Nessmith, daughter of Joe
and Mary Holbert was born and
reared in Saluda and was a mem
ber' of the Friendship Baptist
Church where funeral services
were held Sunday at 3:30 with the
Revs. M. J. Ross and Lloyd Hol
bert officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery.
Surviving besides her parents
are 4 sisters, Mrs. H. M. Thompson,
Mrs. R. L. Thompson, Mrs. J. S.
Holbert, all of Saluda and Mrs. G.
C. Byers of Hamilton, Va.; 6
brothers, Alvin, Edgar, Willis
George and Ray Johnson, all of
Saluda and Joelin Johnson of
Miami, Fla.
The following nephews were the
pallbearers: Russell, Malcolm,
Bill and Junior Holbert, Lloyd
Thompson, Dick Thompson and
Albert Johnson.
The • honorary escort was com
posed of: Frank Thompson, Alex
and Nolan Pace, Ragan Thomp
son, Doran Fisher and Burgie Pace.
Mrs. Bertha B. Turck has re
turned to her home in Gillette
Woods after spending the mid-win
ter in Dunedin, Fla.* with her
daughter, Mrs. George W- Hans
comb and Col. Hanscomb, and in
Jacksonville with friends.
