days ago from St. Petersburg, Fla.,

No Dogs In Polk County
R. E. Brantley, chairman of the
Polk County Board of Commission

Tryon Rotary Club Friday at 1
p.m. at Oak Hall. James R„Trow

Mr. Brantley spoke on county
affairs. Among the things he
mentioned was the failure of prop
erty owners to fully list their hold
ings for taxation as required by
law. Dogs should be included but
“apparently there are no dogs in
Polk County”, according to Mr.
Brantley.

Harold Griffith will be in charge
of the Tryon Kiwanis Club pro
gram Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Oak
Hall.
HOSPITAL NEWS
Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson
are parents of a daughter born
at 3:15 this morning at St. Luke’s
Hospital.
Patients admitted over the week
end are Mrs. George C. Morton,
Tryon; and Mrs. Willie Waters,
Tryon. Patients discharged include
Broadus Shehan, Mill Spring; Mrs.
Edward Johnson, Saluda; Mrs.
Norman Foster-and daughter, Mill
Spring and. Mrs. J. D. Ravan, and
baby son, Lynn. ,
