Continued on Back Page FIRE AT FLYNNS Lightning struck a storage barn and small shed at the M. B. Flynn Little Orchard shortly after 8 o’clock Wednesday night and com | pletely destroyed them. The flames could be seen for miles. The lightn ' ing also knocked out the telephone ! line, but neighbors including Alan Calhoun from the high hills gave i the alarm. The Tryon Volunteer : Fire Dept, went out and saved the adjoining stable. Hospital Auxiliary Picnic Many me&bers and friends of the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary and a group of nurses from the hospital, enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Houser at Green River Plantation Wednesday eve i ning. s | A delicious picnic supper was I served in the grove while music ! distributed through loud speakers reached every corner of the grounds. After supper- many guests en joyed wandering through the ex tensive grounds and exploring the mhny interesting spots in this fas icnating and historical spot. Mrs. Margaret Range, president of the Auxiliary, announced that the picnic would be an annual fea ture of the organization and thank ed all who helped to make it a success. MRS. ALICE JUSTICE Mrs. Alice Foster Justice, 67, of Hendersonville, died Wednesday night at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. Charles Elroy, 215 Briar cliff Road, Spartanburg. She was a native of Polk County, the daugh ter of A. Frank King and the late Jane King of Hendersonville.
