Organized Reserve Corps Meets Monday, Aug. 8th Tryon now has its own training unit in the Organized Reserve Corps. This unit, the 3554th Com plement, Post, Camp, or Station {small training), was activated by General Orders No. 153, Hq. 3rd Army, June 30, 1949. The commanding officer is Lt. Col. William G. Ashemore of Tryon. The new unit is authorized a strength of 24 officers, 2 warrant officers, and 51 enlisted men. It is also authorized to hold two “pay” training sessions per month. The personnel of the unit is to be made /tfhf active reservists of this area, ^^^uding the Rutherfordton, Sa luda, Spindale and Forest City areas. The next meeting of the unit will be held at Sunnydale on Monday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.-m. At this time Maj. W. N1. Cowan, the unit in structor for this district, will be present to give advice and infor mation as the new training pro gram gets underway. All active reservists are request ed to be present; and former armv personnel—not now active-—who would like to receive information about the program are cordially invited.
