It is a re print of the “I Personally” award of $1,000 in the July Atlantic Monthly . . . .TODAY, this af -Continued on Back Page_ mom: Adult Evening Meeting At Mill Spring School There is to be held a series of evening classes for adult men and women at the Mill Spring High School under the direction of Mrs. Ruby L. Wilson and T. S. Gash, home economics andv agriculture teachers, respectively. The first meeting of this type will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 20th. This meeting is an organizational meeting at which time the programs and other mat ters pertaining to the classes will be mapped out. Suitable movies will be shown which will be of in terest to all people _of the Mill Spring community. Both Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Gash pointed out that the evening class es will be arranged according to the needs and interests of the people. All adults interested in home economics and agriculture are invited to attend. Tryon Wins First Game In Championship Series Tryon and Saluda opened a three-out-of-five games series on Wednesday afternoon for the Blue Ridge League championship. Try on won 5-2. Battery for Tryon: Bridges, Barber and Lewellyn; for Saluda, J. Ward, R. Ward and Holbert. The next game with Saluda will he on Saturday at 3:30 at Harmon Field. On Sunday Tryon opens a three out-of-five games series with Land rum to be placed at Harmon Field on Sundays. Landrum reached the semi-finals in the Peach Coun ty League. __ j ~
