Mar quette, Mich., received 8 inches and snow fell in northern Minnesota, Illinois, fowa and Indiana. I FEDERAL COURT NEWS The Asheville Citizen reports that liquor cases predominated ac tions heard in the U. S. District Court Wednesday and that among the cases disposed of was that of Russell Lockhart, Louis Lockhart and Rubben Lockhart, all of Polk County, who answered to charges of- manufacturing non-tax paid liquor. Each was given the alter native of serving 18 months in prison or paying $750 fine and going free under three years pro bation. William M. Spivey pleaded nolo contendere to charges of embezzle ment and making false entries and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. However, he was given un til January 2, to arrange his affairs and was released on $2,500 bond for his appearance to begin serving sentence at that time. . Hugh D. Gravitt, taxi driver, whose car killed Margaret Mitchell, j author of “Gone With The Wind” t was sentenced to 12 to 18 months for involuntary manslaughter. BLOODSHED BOXSCORE ON N. C.
