Raleigh, Ntov. 18.—Facts and figures about North Carolina wi]l aopear in the 1950 Statesman’s Year Book, published iif London by MacMillan. o THEIR LAST GAME A number of Tryon High School seniors are playing their last game for the school this afternoon at Harmon Field. Bill Rhodes, who has played four years has been named on North Carolina’s All-State honor able mention list for two seasons and is co-captain of the 1949 squad. Coke Foster, the other captain, has played 4 years and is one of the best backs ever to play for the Blue and Gold. Dub Melton has also played 4 years and was placed on the State honorable mention list for one year. Herbert Edwards, another 4-year man, is a good blocker and tackier and does an excellent job at quarterback. Carroll Brady, has played only 2 years, but, showed up wonder fully well on running and kicking. Carroll had bad luck his first year out. In a practice scrimmage his collarbone was broken and he was out most of the season. J. W. Ellison, a 4-year man, has been an' excellent end on defense and offense. James Arledge a 3-year man, plays tackle and plays it well. Bill “Fireball” McKaig, playing his 4th year for the Tigers, has been the reliable utility man and was often shiftfed to strengthen weak, spots. TRYON HOUNDS ON AIR Lee Massie of the Biltmore Rid ing Club will speak over WLGS, 1380i Kc., Asheville, Satur morning at 9 and will give a bi resume of the part the members the Tryon Hounds played in initial hunt held at Mitchell Fi near Asheville last Sunday.
