COLUMBUS NEWS Reported by Mrs. J. A. Feagan. A number of Columbusites at tended the funeral of John Poster, at Peniel church Tuesday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Burgess are leaving Thursday for Cullowhee, -where they both are entering school. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Hawley is ill, and in St. Luke’s Hospital. v Mrs. J. W. Gantt was hostess to the women of the Presbyterian Church at a special meeting on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. J. W. Walker of Forest City, preisdent of Kings Mountain Presbyterial, was present and gave a brief re view of the book recently studied, “Lift Up Your Eyes.” AMo an ac count of some changes recently made in the work of the women of the church. In closing she stressed the fact that all Christians should work together for our common cause. Mrs. Walker was accom panied by Mrs. Jones, also of Forest City. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Feagan of Green Creek, were dinner guests of the John Spurlins Sunday. Mrs. J. F. Arnold of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. J. M. Hodge of Rutherfordton spent a few days last week with Mr .and Mrs. J. A. Feagan. New arrivals at Oak Hall hotel include Capt. W. F. Royall, USN, of Ames, Iowa; W. S. Branden burg of HuntingtoOu lrvl (retired penmanship teacher), and Mrs. F. N, Williams of Tryon. Cap*. Royall who was commandant of* the U. S. Naval Base at Plymouth, England, and is now in charge of the Naval R.O.T.C. at Iowa State College, is visiting his father, Dr. John A.
