New Picture on Exhibit
At Lanier Library
“Christmas in the Hills”, paint
ed from imagination, depicts a
candlelight service for children and
was inspired by the many, small
white frame churches within the
20 mile radius of Tryon. This
picture is hung as the Christmas
Art Exhibit in the Holden Read
ing Room of the Lanier Library.
Constance Reynolds, who has her
studio in the Pacolet River Valley
contributed this in the Spirit of
Christmas—and it can be seen in
the Library until Jan. 1.
MRS. LOU HOWARD
Landrum.—Mrs. Lou Anna How
ard, 56, wife of the Rev. A. T.
Howard, died unexpectedly at her
home at Landrum Route 1 Tues
day night.
Mrs. Howard was born and rear
ed in upper Greenville County, a
daughter of the late William and
Emoline Burrell,
Surviving besides her husband
are 5 daughters, Mrs. Caroline
Gosnell of Nova, O., Mrs. Angeline
Ward of Landrum Route 2, Mrs.
Charles Duncan and Mrs. Maude
Griggs of Landrum Route 1 and
Mrs. Iva Belue of Landrum; 3
sons, Lloyd and Alvin of Landrum
Route 1 and Landrum Howard of
Tryori Route 1; one brother, Oscar
Burrell of Taylors Route 1.
Funeral arrangements are incom
plete. — Spartanburg Herald.
