Polk Republican Nominating Committee Is Announced Polk County Republican Execu tive Chairman Ernest Gibbs an nounced today the naming of a nominating committee who will select candidates for the General Election in November. Gibbs stated that this committee would put before the convention the names of prospective candi dates for their co-ordination with the nominating committee. The chairman released the following as the nominating committee: Thomas Greenway, Green’s Creek; J. M. MjcGuinn, Cooper’s Gap; Joe Wal- . ker, Mill Spring; R. S. Ramsey, Columbus; Clarence Smith, Tryon; Hugh Thompson, Saluda. Chairman Gibbs pointed out that any sugges tions as to possible candidates should be taken up with either of the precinct committeemen. ELIZA McGUINN Landrum.—Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Mae Denton McGuinn, 47, who died at her home Monday afternoon at 1:50, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 at Pacolet Hill Baptist Church. The Revs. C. C. Tucker, W. B. Belue and A. T. Howard will of ficiate. Burial in Denton Cemetery. Mrs. McGuinn was the daughter of the late George W. and Sally Clint Denton.
