On Tryon School Board —_Continued from Page One the executive committee in a group, and that all business would be carried out in a democratic way. Mrs. John Z. Preston, secretary of the Tryon precinct committee, stated that the committee express ed its gratitude for the coopera tion and interest shown by the citizens in helping them arrive at a decision. The Tryon precinct comimttee also voted to publish the results of its meetings and to in form the voters of its actions from time to time. MRS. E. B„ WILLIAMS Mrs. Ellen Brown Williams, 89, of Mill Spring, died Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mirs. B. A. Whitesides of Mill Spring, after an extended illness. She was the widow of N. E. Wil liams and a native and lifelong resident of Polk County. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p. m. in Big Level Baptist Church. The Rev. S. H. Bradley and the Rev. Henry Al mond officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. A. H. Lynch, Mrs. Ralph Edwards, Mrs. M. H. Edwards, Mrs. H. L. Bennett, Mrs. Whitesides and Miss Getanna Williams, all of Mill Spring: 2 3grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. HOSPITAL NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Chambers of Tryon are the parents of a daughter born this morning (Mon day) at St. Luke’s Hosnital. Patients admitted to St. Luke’s over the week-end include Mrs. Jesse Barnette, Columbus; Mrs. Walter Edwards. Mill Spring; Mrs. R. E. Brantley, Trvon; Miss Louise Wilkerson, Landrum; and Bessie Miller, colored, Mill Snring. Pa tients discharged include Mrs. Sherrill Bullock and baby son, Tryon; Mrs. Clyde Tharpe, Tryon; Mrs. Marion Quillen, Lynn; and Michael Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walden. Thompson, Colum bus. Tryon defeated Mountain Home •Saturday, 13-1. Battery for Tryon, Skipper,' Bridges and Lewellyn; for Mountain Home, Wyatt and Goode. Tryon defeated Columbus Sun day at Harmon Field, 10-8. Bat tery for Tryon, Foster, Barber and Lewellyn; for Columbus, Ramsey, Geer, Edwards and Ramsey. Tryon will play Saluda Thursday at 4 p. m., at Harmon Field to make up for a rained-out game.
