Congressman A. L. Bulwinkle
who was dismissed from the U. S.
Naval Hospital last week, is now
at his Gastonia home and is open
ing an office there where he will
be closer to the people of his dis
trict and at the same time carry
on his work in Washington thru
his secretary, Miss Irene Whisn
ant. In Gastonia he will be assist
ed by his son, Maj. Lewis Bulwin
kle and Myles Haynes of Cliffside,
N. C. a graduate of the University
of North! Carolina whose law
studies at George Washington
University were interrupted re
cently by the death of his father,
M. C. Haynes.
Mr Haynes was in Polk County
Friday on business and stated
that Congressman Bulwinkle wishes
to let all the people know that he
is in Gastonia and can serve them
regarding congressional matters.

morning for the beach where they
will spend their vacation.
Pfc. Robert Kuykendall, (para
trooper), stationed at Ft. Bragg,
N. C. was home on brief furlough
during the week-end with his
mother and father, Mr. and Mrs.
Ellis Kuykendall, and family.
Rev. and Mrs. Archie Ellis and
sons Richard and John have re
turned to Salisbury after a visit
with Mrs. Ellis’ parents, Mr. and
Mrs. L. A. Avant.
Ralph C Erskine was in Chicago
on business last week. *
Mrs. E. C. Andrews has
as guest her daughter, Mrs. Ed
Wagner nee Kathleen Andrews,
and son Jack, of Raleigh while
Mr. Wagner is in Chicago; and
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Rhyne, nee
Betty Lee Andrews, of Lincoln
ton.
Fred Powell of Farthing and
Swann, and Mrs. Powell of the
Town office are on their vacation
this week -at Myrtle Beach.
