Your Neighborhood DRUGGIST for Over Half A Century. MISSILDINE’S PHARMACY “The Rexall Store.” Phone No. 4 SCHOOL OPENING Tryon schools will open at 8:30 on August 31st. We are looking forward to a record enrollment and to a successful school year. At the white school, much has been added by way of instructional sup plies and equipment. Reference works and other books have been added to the library. Several ref erence sets have been placed in the individual classrooms. Almost a thousand dollars worth of sup plies and equipment have been ordered for the science department since school closed. Six new type writers were added to the, commer cial department last summer, and six more have been added this sum mer. The school has secured a new electric adding machine and electric mimeograph machine. No work has been done on the building this summer, as the school is trying to avoid the expenditure of money for repairs until a general renovation program can be initiated. The work on the grounds represents an addition of inestimable value. At the colored school, the sewer line is being installed, and the indoor toilets can be used before long. More than a thousand dol lars has been spent for desks, in structional supplies, and other equipment for the colored school. The white school faculty has three new teachers this year. Mrs. William Spivey, will teach the sec ond grade, Miss Judy Durham of Landrum will teach the fourth ■ grade ,and Miss Elizabeth Roman stine of Columbia, S. C., will teach English in the High School. The faculty of the colored school will be the same as last year.—School Reporter. FOR RENT: Attractive, desir able steam heated apartments, furnished or unfurnished. Close in, quite neighborhood.
