Mrs. Fred Ellis and children, Barbara, Maybeth and Frances, returned to their home in Chapel Hill last week after spending the summer with Mrs. Ellis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Landrum. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Copeland had as their guest last week-end, Miss Mildred Watson of Charlotte. Mrs. Bessie Daniel, Floyd and Miss Addie Daniel motored to High Point Sunday where Miss Daniel will resume her teaching in the city schools. Mrs. Daniel and Floyd returned to Gastonia to spend a couple of days with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daniel. Miss Lucile Sheehan spent the week-end in Jacksonville, Fla. Miss Alma Daniel returned to Anderson this week to begin her teaching in the city schools. Mrs. Nelle Petty is visiting her son, W. J. Petty in New Orleans, La. Miss Abby Gwathmey of Rich mond, Va., who has been the guest for the past week of Mrs. E. O. Gilmore and Miss Mar garet Bomar, left Wednesday for Laurens, S. C., for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Smith, uncle and aunt of Mrs. Gilmore and Miss Bomar. Miss May Plumley, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Louis Reneau, returned Monday to resume her teaching in the citv schools of Whitmire, S. C. Miss Maize, Rudolph and Thorn well Earle had as their guests last week, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Ives of Davidson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Binghiemer and small daughter, Catherine of Bur lington, N. C. Mrs. Nannie Smith of Green’s Creek is visiting her sister, Mrs. Ella Wilson this week. Among those who are leaving this week for college are Joseph Lee Jr., A. G. Four are to be taken to the pool for baptism on the second Sunday morning. During the week Mr. and Mrs. Clark Moore of Tryon, Mr. and Mrs. James Carson and William of Black Mountain visited friends and relatives here. .
