Presbyterians Get Organ
The Tryon Presbyterian Church
has installed a new Wurlitzer
electronic organ which will be play
ed Sunday morning for its first
church service. Rev. George W.
Hayward is the pastor of the
church.
The men of the Presbyterian
churches of Tryon, Saluda, Co
lumbus and Landrum will meet
Friday night at the Tryon church
to discuss plans for improving
the^pToperty and equipment of the
churches in this area.
Mr. and Mrs. Lucius E. Sayre
who have been spening a month
at the Sayre-Canfield cottage,
Douglas, Michigan, are on their
way home and will arrive in Try
on about October 1. Mr. Sayre is
treasurer of St. Luke’s Hospital
and while enroute home expects to
attend the 52nd annual convention
of hospitals of the American Hos
pital Association which meets in
Atlantic City, September 19th. The
Sayres will visit their son in New
Canaan, Conn., for a few days be
fore starting home.
C. N1. Brown, of the Safe-Way
Stores, Front Royal, Va., formerly
with the Tryon A&P Market for
five years ,is in Tryon and Hen
dersonville for his vacation. His
wife and son, Don, accompanied
him.
Mrs. Wayne V. O’Neil has re
turned from a visit with her
daughter Mrs. A. T. Banning, and
family at Pittsburgh, Pa., and
with her sons, James E. and
Wayne and families at Chester
field, N. H.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Ram
sey are leaving today for their va
cation in Ohio, New Jersey and
other noints in the East.

ing of North Carolina State Pres
>^byterian Synod in Charlotte this
week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Feder have
returned to their home in Tryon
after spending the summer in
Hadley, N. Y.
