At Presbyterian Church
The annual Union Thanksgiv
ing Service of the Tryon churches
will be held this year at the Pres
byterian Church with the Rev.
Charles L. Ledford of the Tryon
Methodist Church, preaching. A
combined community choir will lead
the music and Dr. Newton Middle
ton of the Episcopal Church and
Dr. C. E. Scarborough of the Bap
tist Church, have been invited to
take part on the program. Rev.
George W. Hayward is the host
pastor.
The freewill offering will be giv
en to the Helping Hand for local
charity work not covered by exist
ing organizations.
The hour of service has been set
for 10 a. m., Thursday, Nov. 23.
Mrs. Tom Hilton Sr., of Green
ville, S. C., is visiting Mrs. Tom
Hilton Jr., and daughters.
The Senior Class of Green Creek
High School will present a three
act comedy Saturday, Nov. 18,
at 7:30.
Mrs. C. M. Cruikshank of New
Canaan, Conn., who arrived last
week to visit Mrs. Joel Stockard,
is now at Pine Crest Inn and Mrs.
Stockard has gone to her new home
in Point Pleasant, Bucks County,
Pennsylvania.
Mr. and Mrs. Seth M. Virfii
of Washington, D. C., will arrive
tonight for the Mahler-Vining
wedding on Saturday.
