Theme: “Saints in Wrong Places.” Troy Durham Appointed New County Commissioner Trov Durham of Green’s Creek Township, has been appointed a member of the Polk County Board of County Commissioners to fill the unexpired term of E. A. West brook, who has been elected State Senator, Mr. Durham, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Durham, is a veteran of World War II, and is now em ployed bv Adams-Mill's Corp. He is married and is the father of three children. Mr. Durham was recommended for the office by the Polk County Democratic Executive Committee. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Mrs. John Gibson of Columbus has returned to the hosuital. Pa tients discharged include Ted Wel ker, Mrs. Mary E. Markley of Philadelphia and Jo Anne Con stance of Columbus. Mrs. Grace MacDonald of St. Petersburg, Fla., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Tom Cooksey, and family at the Peanut Shell on Godshaw Hill. H. M. Huxley leaves Sunday for a week’s visit in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. “Lefty” Flynn of Camden, S. C., will spend the week end in Tryon with friends. Mrs. F. H. Jordan, who recently — returned from Paris, France, is a guest at Oak Hall. Mrs. C. Arthur Lincoln is leav ing this week-end for Schenectady, N. Y., to visit her daughter, Mrs. Ted Bates and family. Among the college students al ready home or coming in this week-end are Jim Baker, Tom Moore, Ligon Flynn, Raymond An derson, Loyd Comer, of State Col lege in Raleigh; Carroll Brady, Miss Mary Sanders, Erw:n Hester, John M.
