Mrs. Ella Fowles received a
letter from her son, Lt. J. E.
Fowles’ wife in San Diego, Calif.,
that she and all five children have
had flu and two of the children
have pneumonia and the Red Cross
has ordered him home from his
port in Cuba to be with his sick
family. They had sent all their
home furnishing to Cuba just as
they fell ill and had plane tickets
ready to start. She says San Diego
is full of flu.
Dr. Gordon N. Graham has tak
en over the office of Dr. Wm. H.
Pearce in Hendersonville and will
divide his time between the two
offices, being ir. Tryon on Tuesday ;
and Thursday. Dr. Pearce has en- I
tered the armed forces.
