FARM FOLKS QuftlON'
Question: I own a small farm.
What type of seed cleaner do you
recommend that I use?
Answer: The answer depends on
conditions on the-farm. If you are
growing only one or two large crops
for commercial seed purposes, it
is recommended that you use one
large cleaner. However, if you
produce several types of seed crops,
it is recommended that you use
one large cleaner. However, if
you produce several types of seed
crops, it would be beter for you
to use several small cleaners.
Question: Is it possible to dry
seed too dry for germination?
Answer: No. Tests by the Ohio
Agricultural Experiment Station
show that the moisture content of
seed can be reduced to 5 per cent
without affecting the germination
of seed. However, it is possible to
get seed too hot.
