The store will be open to the public Thursday morning at 8 o’clock. It is probably the largest store be tween Spartanburg and Hender sonville. The new building is 63 feet wide and 122 feet long. It is of concrete block with brick veneer finish; has all modern conveniences, including two automatic heating systems. A large parking lot in the rear permits customers to buy their groceries and be checked out on a separate cash register at the rear entrance- without having to go to the front door traffic jam. The building is well-lighted and large letters indicate the various depart ments such as “Fresh Fruits" and “Vegetables," “Frozen Foods.” “Poultry and Meat”, ‘Self Service Meats,”' “Canned Vegetables”, etc., make it easy for customers to find what they want .... The Tryon Chamber of Commerce, Garden Club and Town Officials are pro moting a clean-up, paint-up, fix-it up campaign. Mayor C. D. Hendersonville, the Tryon boys de feated Brevard 44 to 42 with Bob Ramsey leading the way with 23 } points. The Tryon High lassies ’ upset the favored Hendersonville girls 36 to 28 behind the fine play of Pittman and Nanney, who had - I 15 and 14 points respectively. The Tryon boys Were eliminated later by Christ School 71 to 42. Columbus To Play Tonight The Columbus town team will play the YMCA Bobcats tonight at 9:15 at the Spartanburg Junior College gymnasium in the first round of the Spartanburg County YMCA Tournament.
