‘“Sun-Up” by Lula Vollmer will
be presented in the Tryon High
School auditorium on March 16,
at 8 p. m. The play, under the
direction of C. E. Landrum, will
be presented by the Spartanburg
High School Dramatics Department
in cooperation with the Student
Council. The setting for this play
is near Asheville, N. C., during
World War I. You’ll laugh at Bud,
who isn’t quite right, and sigh
with Rufe and Emmy, who get
married. When news of war comes
to the isolated homes of the Cagles
and Todds, they are under the im
pression it’s the Civil War. Soon
after Rufe leaves for the army, a
stranger comes to the cabin of Ma
Cagle who hides him when the
police come looking for him.—J.a.

his 12th week of basic training

problems and undergone intensive
