MEET YOUR FRIENDS AT “THE PRESCRIPTION STORE” OWEN’S PHARMACY. Phone 202. WALGREEN AGENCY. COMMUNICATIONS Korea, May 10, 1951. Dear Home Friendly Club: I was very glad to get your May / letter. It’s good to get mail over here. We are just below the big reservoir in Central Korea. We were up past it but pulled back as we were stretched out in front too far after the outfits on our flanks were pushed back in the big Chinese offensive but are hold ing our own and preparing to advance again in a few days. I am now with the Grench Bn., that is in Korea. I seldom see my outfit as I’m with a forward observation party and we stay up with the line com panies all the time, so therefore get lots of excitement and thrills if you could call it that. But we have taken our share of Gooks since we’ve been here. They sure paid for the ground they’ve taken and are losing it back to us. Of course we’ve lost lots of bud dies here. But I guess most of us guys that came oyer at the start will be home before too much longer. I sure hope so. We’re get ting lots of replacements now, all new draftees and E.R.’s and part of the R.A. men" have started home. So I shouldn’t be too far be hind them as we all came over last July. So I guess it’s time we let some one else take it awhile, what’s left of us. Boy, this is my favorite season . to be home, although it would have been nice last winter when it was 20 below. Well, news is scarce so please excuse the writing as the pen is North. Korean and is not a good one. I’d better close for now. Hoping to hear from you soon. Robert Phillips.
