RUSSELL LOCKE News has been received in Sa luda by friends of the Locke fam ily that Russell Locke passed away on Saturday, July 21 in Greenwich, Conn, following a ling ering illness. He leaves a wife and a son. Funeral services were held Monday. at the Congregational Church in Greenwich. He was the son of the late Mr. and H. P. Locke, who made their home in Saluda. Russell was reared in Sa Saluda but had spent most of hufejlife in Greenwich. He was an a®Hpplished musician and was in tefWted in working with boys. He leaves one brother, Howard Locke of Washington, D. C. The Hipp reunion will be held Sunday, July 29th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Smith in In man, S. C. Rev. and Mrs. Hugh D. Pollard have been invited to attend. Rev. Com of Tuxedo is holding a revival at the Friendship Bap tist Church, and the 'Capps sis ters are doing the singing for the revival. _ Mrs. Edward Sample Jr. and son Jerry Lynn of Tryon are spend ing a few days with Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hipp, while Mjr. Samples is away at the State Patrol school where he will finish Friday. #ryone is expected to donate when the Blood Bank comes luda on August 1st from to 6:30 at the Presbyterian Educational building. Polk Coun ty is behind in its quota. If you have not had an opportunity to give your pint of blood please do so when the Mobile Unit comes to Saluda on August 1st.
