That means more blood will be needed for the wounded in Korea and elsewhere by Army and Navy doctors. The Bloodmobile will be in Saluda Wednesday afternoon and all people in this section are invited to go up and contribute blood . . . . Funds are still needed to pay for the swimming pier and beach at the Tryon Girl Scout camp. R. L. Ballenger gave the two valuable lots and a number of men have contributed time and n^ey to make it available, but few of the parents of girls We contributed. Most of the con tributions of time and money have come from bachelors, childless couples or couples with grown chil dren. It is possible that parents of cute little girls who are Scouts * or will be Scouts are not inter ested enough to give a few dollars to provide a place where"their chil dren can learn to swim and enjoy water sports later on? Thousands of lives are lost by drowning every year because the victims did not know how to swim. Your contribu tion may save a life. Even a dollar would show interest and a spirit of cooperation. If you Continued on Back Page_ GOAT SHOW AUGUST 25 AT HARMON FIELD I The Second Annual Dairy Goat j Show of the Western Carolinas i Dairy Goat Association will be held at Harmon Field, Tryon, on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25th. Admission free. Public invited. Dr. Stanley G. Bandeen, of Louisville, Ky., a director of the American Milk Goat Record Asso ciation, will be the official judge. Both grades and purebreds of the four breeds, Saanen, Hoggen burg, Nubian and French Alpine, will be represented. There will be classes for all ages, from ma ture does to kids, but bucks will not be eligible. Entries are in vited by the public, whether mem bers or not of the Western Caro linas-Dairy Goat Association. Cash prizes as well as ribbons will be awarded. PRESBYTERIAN PICNIC The annual picnic of the Tryon Presbyterian Church will be held Wednesday at Harmon Field. A re I creational program will start at 5 p. m., with supper served at 7 I p. m.
