White Elephants Tuesday
The Women’s Golf Association
of the Tryon Country Club will
hold a White Elephant Golf Tour
nament Tuesday and all those who
did not play last Tuesday will
have an opportunity to play next
Tuesday. Luncheon will be served
at 12:30 at the Club House. Mrs.

The general public and especi
ally all friends of Christian Edu
cation are invited to attend a
special program at the Congrega
tional Church Spnday night at 8
to meet three young leaders from
three. different colleges who will
tell of their work in Christian
Service.
The young people are John
Groves of Hartford School of
Religious Education, who has been
elected president of the student
body for next year. He will head
the caravan. Next is William P.
Tolley, who has just graduated
from Elon College and has had
several years experience as a
student worker; and Timothy
Chang of Shaowu, China, who has
just graduated from Duke Uni
versity, and who has been to Tryon
before, They will be accompanied
by Moss Pattie Lee Coghill, edu
cational secretary of the Southern
