Tryon Chamber of Commerce has
spent several hundred dollars this
year advertising by folders, radio
and otherwise to bring in enough
new citizens and business to main
tain a needed balance for the pros
perity of the community, the suc
cess of its various organizations
hnd employment for its citizens.
Those men who serve as directors
are constantly on the watch for
anything that will benefit all the
people in this area. They pay their
dues of from $20 to $50 per year
just the s&me as everyone else
and in addition give much of their
time and go to other expense. This
is what makes a town. Those busi
nesses who profifc"by new homes and
new customers join the Chamber
of Commerce as a matter of good
business. The good sports and those
who believe in sharing responsibi
lities as well as benefits are eager
to join. And there are others who
are civic minded and have no mer
cenary. interests who join the
Chamber of Commerce for its value
in helping to maintain a consci
ousness of many civic needs and
always striving to improve things
generally. It takes years of agi
tation sometimes to get things
done, to iton out many kinks.
It takes that to make success. An
