’Hospital in Hendersonville.
Mrs. J. C. Thompson is ill with
influenza.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Denton of
Columbus were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Spurgeon Arledge Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Haigler left
this week for their home in Tren
ton, Fla., after spending the sum
mer at their cottage on Stack
house Hill.
Mrs. Mary Ballew, mother of
Mrs. Ed Emory, fell down the*
steps at her home Sunday morning
and was taken to Patton Memorial
Hospital in Hendersonville for ob
servation. No bones were broken.
She is confined to bed for some
time, however.
Mrs. Howard Gilbert of Spar
tanburg has returned home after
spending several days with Mr.
and Mrs. Marvin Gilhert.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCall1 are
making lots of improvements to
their home they recently bought
from the Gilberts.
The little five-year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs. Dan Laughter, is in the
Patton Memorfal Hospital in Hen
dersonville after an operation for
a ruptured appendix.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson,
have announced the birth of a baby
son, born at Patton Memorial this
week. The baby has been named
George Lee Jr.
Dan Robertson, who is in the
Army, is home for a few days
and is planning to move his fam
ily to Arizona.
Miss Monterey Thompson has
moved into the ^aylpr apartment
