SALUDA NEWS LETTER * By Miss Julxa Ann Johnson. Clayton Johnson who has been very sick at the Mary Black Hos pital in Spartanburg is improving. The Rev. Earl Hansell, pastor of the Methodist Church has an nounced that all the churches that do not have Sunday evening ser vice at their church are especially invited to come and worship with them at 7:30 p. m. The church board of education met at the church Tuesday night and the fol lowing new church Sunday school officers were elected: general sup erintendent, Homer Taylor; super intendent children’s work, Mrs. Homer Taylor; superintendent of youth dept. Henry Clippard; super intendent of adult department, Rev. D. L. Earnhardt; secretary and treasurer, Ralph Adams. Kinder garten class, Mrs. Homer Taylor, primary class, Mrs. Bryson Ed wards, junior class, Mrs. J. H. Clippard, intermediate class, J. H. Clippard, young adult class, Mrs. John P. Taylor, adult Bible class, Rev. D. L. Earnhardt, interme diate fellowship class, Miss Edith Hawkins. All members are urged to attend the 11 o’clock service Sunday morning at which time a congregational” business meeting will be held. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Barrington King, will be sorry to bear that Mr. King is very sick at a hospital in Greenville, S. C. There will be a singing at the Warrior Mountain church near Sa 'uda ,Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. ’toy L. Johnson will be in charge of the singing and the public is Jnvited. This churdh lis easily reached by a good road. Judy Clippard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Clippard, was tripped by a dog Sunday afternoon about 6 while?'running in the yard and fell and broke her left arm. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Taylor and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wicker in Saluda, S. C., and attended the homecoming at the Mt. Pleasant Luthern Church there. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Rhodes, and Mr. and Mrs. Olis Russell have traded their homes and ex pect to move in next week. The Rhodes place is on Greenville St., and the Russell place is on Patter son St. Friends of Mrs. W. E. Sawyer are sorry to hear her sister, Mrs. Mamie Child, is very ill in a hos pital in Newberry, S. C. The entire community is happy to have Rev. and Mrs. Earl Han sell sent back to the Methodist Church. If the weather permits there will be a baptizing1 Sunday after noon by Rev. G. A. Davis of Try on. Several people from' Saluda and Tryon will be baptized. The place for the baptizing has been decided on but anyone iug to attend can see Mrs. Pace this week-end for the infor mation or come to her home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Earl Hansell and her two sisters of Charlotte are spending this week at Myrtle Beach, S. C.
