To Landrum Garden Club
The Landrum: Garden Club met
Tuesday at 3 o’clock at the home
of Mrs. T. W. Petty. Mrs. De
Foix Suttle presided over the
brief business session at which
time she reported the new organiza
tion of the Garden Club Council.
Orders were taken for over
1,000 pansies.
Mrs. R. B. Thomson was guest
speaker and spoke on borders, an
nuals, perennials. She emphasized
watering on a rising temperature
as small growing plants needed
more moisture during the day;
stressed proper fertilization
ujHwnulching.
Tfrs. John Atkins conducted an
auction sale of plants donated
by the members.
In the reception room was an
arrangement of .nandina in silver.
In the dining room was one of
fruit on a table, and on the
crendenza was an arrangement
of dahlias. A salad course with
cake and hot coffee was served.
