Rudolph Halley, a Kefaufer crime investigator, - won presidency of New York City Council as an independent over the organization Democrat Joseph T. Sharkey .... SAFETY PATROL SUPPER PLANNED NEXT WEEK A movement is on foot to honor 15 high school Safety Patrol boys at a dinner at Oak Hall, on Wed nesday, November 14. Approxi mately 75 men of the community are expected to take part and hear Lieutenant Hunt of the State High way Patrol address the boys when they are presented their safety patrol uniforms. The tragedies of highway travel have spurred the National Safety Council and the Automobile As sociations to seek every means possible to reduce accidents r.nd promote safety for school children. The price of the meal is less than $2 and reservations may be made through Police Chief Lewis Lindsey or The Bulletin Office. J. S. KETENBAUGH James Sanders Betenbaugh, 68, Union County, S. C., auditor for the past 36 years, died Tuesday morning at Wallace Thompson hos pital. Funeral services Wednes day afternoon at 4:30 at Grace Methodist Church. Mr. Betenbaugh was a brother in-law of Mrs. Ernest Kerhulas of Trvon and he and his family were frequent visitors to this com munity. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Herman Betenbaugh, the man who rescued Dewey Smith Monday from Broad River when Smith’s truck fell through Irene Bridge-in lower Cherokee County. The auction of the Kilpin house hold goods for the benefit of St. Luke’s Hospital will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock, near Shields Plumbing Shop.
