Mr. and Mrs. John Darnall on Piney Ridge will have as their guest for the Christmas holidays, a Norwegian friend, Jan Henrik Stoud Platow of Bergen, a textile engineer who is taking a training course with the Barrington Mills, Gastonia. Dr. and Mrs. Zay Jeffries of Pittsfield, Mass., are arriving to day, and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Kerr of Cleveland, 0., and their daughters, Catherine and Jacque line, are arriving Sunday to be Christmas guests of Dr. and Mrs. Clarence V. Kerr of Gillette Woods. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Bullock have arrived for the holidays with Mrs. Bullock’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Thatcher. Oak Hall dining room will serve its Christmas dinner from 12:30 to 2:30 and be closed for the rest of the day. Mr. and Mrs. Milton R. Howell, nee Marguerite Brantley, and daughter, Jan, are arriving Satur day from Greensboro to spend the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Brantley.
