The first to break the family cir cle was her brother, Dr. Henry Powe of Laurens, S. C., who died a few weeks ago. Like Mrs. Kitt rell, he was a native of Cheraw, S. C. He often visited Tryon, and was a “gentleman of the old school” in honor, kindness and good citizenship. Although retired for many years Mrs. Kittrell al ways takes some part in every worthwhile community project be cause of her interest in the wel fare of humanity. She has been and still is an inspiration for many who carry on the burdens of fund raising and community building. Jones, sailed Saturday, Jan. 19, from New York on the liner SS America for LeHarve, France, to join her husband, Lt. Frank C. Wilson. They will reside at Hotel de Metz in the town of Bar-Le-Duc, France. Mr. and Mrs. William Settle and daughter, Frances, of Colum bia were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Settle, Satur day and Sundav. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Brady of Greenville were week-end gi of Mrs. 0. W. Brady on He/ son Street. Miss Phoebie Ann Littlefield, student of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, arrived Wednesday for four days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Littlefield on Ruther fordton Road. Ann DeCarme is recuperating at her home following a tonsilectomy in Spartanburg. Mrs. O. W. Brady has, returned home after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Brady in Co lumbia. Mrs. Reuben Sizemore is making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Clark. Mrs. Sizemore will resume work with the Lee Mill. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Dodgen have bought the Earle Christopher house on the Greer Road and mov ed into it Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Dodge.! Anderson will make their with their son and family. Mr. and. Mrs. R. A.
