family of seven brothers and sis
ters, all living beyond sixty years.
The first to break the family cir
cle was her brother, Dr. Henry
Powe of Laurens, S. C., who died
a few weeks ago. Like Mrs. Kitt
rell, he was a native of Cheraw,
S. C. He often visited Tryon, and
was a “gentleman of the old
school” in honor, kindness and
good citizenship. Although retired
for many years Mrs. Kittrell al
ways takes some part in every
worthwhile community project be
cause of her interest in the wel
fare of humanity. She has been
and still is an inspiration for
many who carry on the burdens
of fund raising and community
building.

Mrs. F. C. Wilson, the former
Miss Ann Jones, the only daugh
ter of Rev. and Mrs. A. M. Jones,
sailed Saturday, Jan. 19, from
New York on the liner SS America
for LeHarve, France, to join her
husband, Lt. Frank C. Wilson.
They will reside at Hotel de Metz
in the town of Bar-Le-Duc, France.
Mr. and Mrs. William Settle
and daughter, Frances, of Colum
bia were guests of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Settle, Satur
day and Sundav.

her home following a tonsilectomy
in Spartanburg.
Mrs. O. W. Brady has, returned
home after spending a week with

Mrs. Reuben Sizemore is making
her home with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Clark. Mrs. Sizemore will resume
work with the Lee Mill.
