Piedmont Scout Board to Meet
Shelby, Jan. 24.—The Executive
Board of the Piedmont Council,
Boy Scouts of America, serving
the counties of Alexander, Burke,
Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Gas
ton, Iredell, Lincoln, McDowell,
Polk and Rutherford, will hold a
dinner meeting at the Educational
Building of the Central Methodist
Church here on Tuesday night, Jan.
29th at 7:15. This will be the
first board meeting of the year
and plans for the launching of the
new three year program of the
Boy Scouts of America, “Forward
on Liberty’s Team” will be perfect

Council, including Organization
and Extension, Leadership Train
ing, Finance, Advancement. Camp
ing and Activities, Health and
Safety and Public Relations will
hold planning meetings from six
o’clock until the dinner meeting
of the board at 7:15. Council offi
cers and district commissioners
will also meet at the same hour.
The new three year program of
the Boy Scouts of America “For
ward on Libel ty’s Team” will be
launched during National Boy
Scout Week, Feb. 6-12. Scout and
Cub Units wall observe Scouting’s
birthday with Father and Son
Banquets and other special activi
ties. Feb. 10 has been designated
as National Boy Scout Sunday and
each church sponsoring a Scout
Unit will be invited to observe
this day honoring the Scouts and
Cubs of the institution.
