The edition is limited and only the four scout masters in Polk County received copies here except Nelson Jackson who received the first copy off the press in appreciation of his ser vices to Scouting in the nation, ac cording to announcement by Scout r’^yflfctivc R. M. Schiele. Mr. Jack - president of the Piedmont Council and a member of the Na tional Council. The scoutmasters who received copies of the special edition were Harold Taylor, Fred Arledge, Jr., Seth Vining Jr and Kay Wilson . . The new Red Cross Home Nursing class scheduled to start Thursday afternoon had to be changed to Thursday night on account of a conflict . .The first of a series of lectures by Dr. George Farrand Taylor on The Four Gos pels, begins tonight at the Episco pal Parish House at 8 o’clock, un der the sponsorship of the Men’s Club of the1 Church of the Holy Cross. Dr. Taylor gets across to -Continued on Back Page_ WILLIAM PARKER William Jackson Parker, 91, died at his home, Sunbeam Farm, Chesnee Route 2, Saturday night at 11:25. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Willie Franklin Parker; four daughters, Mrs. Ina Flick and Mrs. Anna Flick, both of Brownsville, Pa., Mrs. Nellie Vipperman of Pittsburg, Calif., and Mrs. Mollie Hamilton of Columbia, S. C.; Three sons, W. B. of Tryon, N.' C., Arthur of Philadelphia, Pa., and Otho of Allentown, Pa.; one half sister, Mrs. Jane S. Marler of Beaumont, S. C. 15 grandchild ren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m., at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, conduct ed by the Revs. Dudley Thomas Pomeroy and J. G. Wood. Burial will be in the Tryon cemetary. The J. F. Floyd Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
