The hunt team was won by a Tryon combination composed of John Jackson riding Kettle’s “Big Boy”, George Webster riding Mahler’s Dusty Brown, and Glen Wenger riding Pierce’ “Lock heels”. Other events of the day included a fox hunt, and a polo game: St. Louis vs Camden in which Ray Ferguson played on the winning Camden team i6 to 5. Tryonites making the trip were Mr. and Mrs. J. Jervey Joins Rutherford Hospital Staff Dr. William St. Julien Jervey, formerly of Tryon, and for the past few years of Shelby, is going to Rutherfordton according t o the following article in the Ruth erford County News: “The Ruth erford Hospital announces that Dr. William St. J. Jervey, a specialist in X-ray work (Roent genologist) has joined the staff of the hospital as chief of the X-ray Dept. Dr. Jervey is well prepared to carry on all types °f X-ray work, both diagnostic and therapeutic, in a most ef ficient manner. He has had much training and wide experience. The hospital has purchased and is now installing the latest X-Ray equipment at a cost of $50,000. It is being installed in rooms espec ially prepared with lead walls, floorings and ceilings. It will be several weeks before the new and modern equipment is ready for usev There is nothing in the South ajhead of it and few in the nation that equal it. This depart ment will have the most modern diagnostic, deep, and superficial therapy machines, flourscopes and all other accessories needed. Dr Jervey is a son of Mrs. Allen Jervey of Tryon, and the hus band of the former Miss Sue Spra gue of Tryon. He is veteran of World War II where he served as an X-ray specialist. Following the war he was on the staff of a hospital in Charleston, S. C. for sometime before going to Shelby. Mrs. E. 0. Gilmore and sister Mis Margaret Bomar of Landrum are leaving Tuesday to visit their sister, Mrs. J. W. Frazer and Dr. Frazer at Elmore, Ala.
