Most of the rain reported here fell Monday night in a down pour; but Tuesday morning the sun was shining bright; most of the water had run off the hillsides; a delightful dry breeze came along to take away the surface moisture and when Mr. Creasman read his instruments the air was perfect for most any outdoor activity. The Country Club ^its usual number of golfers; "s were in bloom everywhere rthe grass' greens looked fresh and inviting. Tryon is a wonder ful place to live the year round. Always variety .... At times one -Continued on Back Page_ RAMSEY RITES TO RE HELD ON THURSDAY Funeral services for Clyde Ram sey, 30, will be held Thursday at 2 p. m., at the Columbus Baptist Church. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service. The Rev. LeRoy D. Leppard of the Columbus Baptist Church; Evangelist Chester A. Hunnicutt of the Tryon Church of Christ, and the Rev. Bob Owens, Baptist min ister, will officiate. Interment wifi be in the Columbus Baptist Church cemetery. lhe Polk County Memorial Post of the American Legion will have charge of the burial services. Active pallbearers: T. W. Owens, Allen Arledge, Ed Gibson ,William A. McFarland, Rhynehart Metcalf and Ernest Phillips. Honorary pallbearers: Ernest H. Gibbs, John Gibson, Clyde Pitt-> man, J. F. Mr. Ramsey, a native of Mc Dowell County, came to Polk Coun ty in 1936, where he was engaged in various businesses. In 1948 he moved to San Antonio; Texas, where he entered business. It is reported that Mr. Ramsey was shot 3 times at his place of business in San Antonio by a man listed as Lynn Samples, and died en route to a hospital. Columbus P-.T. A. Thursday The Stearns P.-T.
