The Seniors are trying to raise money to pay for their trip to Washington. . . More good news showing progress here: Postmaster G. f Henderson states that the Tryon post office took in over $3,000 more business this past quarter than for the same period last year. GYMKHANA RESULTS Approximately 700 persons at tended the annual Gymkhana events held Saturday afternoon at Harmon Field under the sponsorship of the Tryon Riding and Hunt Club Jim Marshall, head of the ar rangements committee, was assist ed by James G. Ferguson, George Webster and Mrs. George Gagnier. First place winners in the various events were announced as follows: . Sack race Sam Bingham III of Asheville; egg pitching with part ners, Mary Catherine West and Nancy Elizabeth Martin of Tryon : obstacle race, Alfred Page, Tryon; eg"g and spoon race on horseback Kitty Bingham of Asheville. Musical chairs contest, Mrs. Sam Bingham Jr. of Asheville; whist ling cracker race, Bucky Reynolds Tryon; tug of war, team of girls defeated a team of boys; bending race on horseback, Alfred Page Tryon; foot race running back wards, Edward Howard of Lynn: 100-yard dash on horsebac,k Kitty Bingham. Fred Swann at Kiwanis Fred Swann will be in charge of the Kiwanis program next Tuesday and will have as his guest speaker, Rev. Paul F. Davis, pastor of the Tryon Methodist Church Mr. and Mrs. Ralph G. Milnei ar.d small daughter, Judy have moved here from Minneapolis Minn, and arre guests at Buck ingham Inn. With them are the secretary, Miss Ruth Borly and the nurse, Miss Jean Peterson The Milners bought the P. T Colbron place near Columbus last yeat, and hope to be in their home sometime next week.
